The Data Profiler and the Data Quality Monitor from The Data Studio, share a database. This contains configuration information, database connections and the results of the quality and profile processes.
Our preferred database is PostgreSQL but we have used Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and other SQL databases for this Data Quality database.
You can use these tools to profile and monitor any SQL database, whichever database you use for the Data Quality database.
To use these tools you must create the tables shown in the diagram above, using the scripts provided on the downloads page.
The Data Profiler and the Data Quality Monitor both use a configuration file to get them started. This file contains the connection details for the Data Quality database.
The tool then connects to the Data Quality database and gets all further configuration from there. So you will need to populate the configuration and connection tables.
